We lazed in the garden, played padel tennis and petanca for free, and ate out at some lovely bars in Spain and Portugal. Our favourite thing was the outdoor cinema. Thank you.
Our visit to Casa Verde was great. We arrived to a harp concert at the castle on our first night and then later in the week we were entertained by dancing in the streets to celebrate the Virgin of the Flowers. Good choice of places to eat out and eating in was great due to the super kitchen and facilities and the ever changing view from the dining room across the river. Couldn’t fault anything!
Casa Verde was all we hoped it would be and more! We chilled out, went for many and varied walks, ate locally and across the river in Portugal (such different food to Spain!) and thoroughly enjoyed this lovely unknown area. We’ll be back.
Staying at Casa Verde and seeing the New Year in twice due to the time difference, was very special! We loved our stay.
We have returned from our lovely holiday in Casa Verde. What a lovely little spot you have found there – it is really quite special and I think you need to keep it a secret so it doesn’t get an influx of tourism!
Casa Verde – a charming house in a charming white painted village. Lovely river walks, wild swimming, meals outside both in the lovely friendly bars but also at the house with a really well equipped kitchen to make it easy. Loved the padel tennis and boules in the village – free to use. We’ll be back!

Casa Verde was the perfect setting for a three-generation family getaway. The house is spacious, with two terraces ideal for sunbathing and relaxing. We loved the outdoor shower and plunge pool during the midday heat, and the little motor boat gave us a fantastic way to explore Alcoutim and the Guadiana river. We played padel at the village court, swam in the local pool, and had great fun at the beach bar in Alcoutim. The zip line from Spain to Portugal was a highlight for all. A perfect mix of relaxation and adventure — we’d love to return!
We stayed with friends in this lovely spacious house which had everything we wanted. Outdoor cinema, plunge pool, sun bathing spaces, quiet places and a fantastic view over the river. A short walk to local cafe/bars or a hop on the water taxi over to Portugal. We had a great time and are busy planning a return to Casa Verde next year.
We had a blissful week in Casa Verde. We all relished the peace and quiet, fabulous views, wonderful flower filled walks (or runs in our son’s case!), beach bar drinks, ferry rides across to Alcoutim. We luxuriated on the sun loungers and cooled down in the pool. The weather was hot between 29C and 32C every day! We will be back! Thank you for sharing this wonderful, well equipped house.
